Minister for Sanitation, Madam Cecilia Abena Dapaah, says the promise to make Ghana the cleanest city in Africa is on cause.
She noted that there are no longer heaps of rubbish on streets, in that, bins have been provided across the city.
“Accra is 85% clean; now you don’t see heaps of refuse on the street because we have provided bins across the capital,” she stated in an interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Wednesday.
She explained how Accra became clean during the Covid-19 lockdown where people were asked to stay indoors indicating that “the promise to make Accra the cleanest city is doable.”
She then encouraged the Private sector to invest in Ghana’s West management system because ‘waste’ is wealth.
The hardworking Minister then called on Ghanaians to desist from littering their surroundings because the laws will be hard on offenders.
