Former Dome-Kwabenya Member of Parliament Sarah Adwoa Safo has appealed for calm ahead of the funeral of her late father, Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, urging members of the Akofena group and all interested parties to avoid any actions that could disrupt the solemn event.

Speaking ahead of the funeral, Adwoa Safo called on mourners to respect the family’s wishes and allow the ceremony to proceed peacefully.

She stressed that the occasion should focus on celebrating her father’s life and legacy rather than becoming a platform for disagreements or public confrontation.

“My father’s funeral is a time for mourning, reflection and honouring his remarkable contributions,” she said, according to reports. “I appeal to everyone to respect the occasion and refrain from any actions that may disturb the peace.”

Her comments come amid reports of disagreements involving some individuals connected to the funeral arrangements.

The remarks have attracted public attention because of the prominence of the Safo family and the significance of Apostle Kwadwo Safo’s contributions to Ghana’s religious, industrial and technological development.

Adwoa Safo urged family members, supporters and sympathizers to remain peaceful throughout the funeral activities.

She also encouraged mourners to demonstrate respect for the late founder by conducting themselves with dignity during the ceremonies.

At the time of publication, there had been no public response from representatives of the Akofena group regarding Adwoa Safo’s appeal.

A Legacy Beyond Politics

Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo was widely known as the founder of the Kristo Asafo Mission and the Kantanka Group. He earned national recognition for promoting local manufacturing, engineering innovation and technological development in Ghana.

His work inspired many Ghanaians and helped shape discussions about industrialization and self-reliance.

The funeral is expected to attract religious leaders, government officials, politicians, traditional authorities, business executives and members of the public who wish to pay their final respects.

Calls for Respect and Unity

Observers say high-profile funerals often attract large crowds and heightened public interest, making cooperation among all stakeholders essential.

They note that maintaining peace allows families to mourn with dignity while enabling mourners to celebrate the life of the deceased without unnecessary distractions.

As preparations continue, Adwoa Safo has reiterated her appeal for restraint, urging everyone to honor her father’s memory by ensuring the funeral remains peaceful and respectful.

Authorities are expected to work with the family and event organizers to ensure security and orderly proceedings throughout the funeral.
