The spokesperson for the Safo Kantanka family, Dr. Emmanuel Boakye, has stated that former Dome-Kwabenya MP, Sarah Adwoa Safo, is in critical condition and may not survive the injuries sustained in an alleged shooting incident.

“Considering the critical nature of Adwoa Safo’s present condition, it would not be unexpected for doctors to inform us of her passing at any time,” Dr. Boakye stated in an interview on ChannelOne TV.

He added that she was shot multiple times while seated in her vehicle as she tried to deliver a court notice to her younger brother, Kwadwo Safo Akofena, to prevent his installation as the successor to the Kristo Asafo Mission established by their late father.

He observed that the former Gender Minister is unable to respond verbally when addressed, as medical professionals have indicated that some bullet pellets remain lodged in her ears.

“She can’t even hear a word now. I understand they tried to remove the pellets in her ears and her head also, there is a possibility of some entering. So they’re working on her.

Dr Boakye has indicated doctors attending to Adwoa Safo have advised she should be flown out of the country for further treatment.

“The doctors have advised that her condition is critical and she should be sent outside the country and they suggested Dubai, Germany and America”, he noted.

He bemoaned that Adwoa Safo’s condition has worsened, resulting in swelling and bloating of her body, and she has become immobilized.
