The newly appointed manager for Ajax Amsterdam has issued a transfer doubt over Manchester United target Antony.

United in recent days have been linked with the Brazilian, but the Ajax boss believes the attacker is very much in his plans. His aim is for the player to continue to play for the Dutch champions until his contract runs out in 2025.

The Ajax boss in an interview disclosed that the club’s desire is to keep all their best performing players especially, Anthony.

“We want to keep Antony at Ajax. I want to work with him, and the club knows this”.

“We want to keep Antony at Ajax. He has a contract until 2025. I want to work with him, and the club knows this.”

Looking at Anthony’s performance last season, both in the Champions league and the Eredivisie, it will be a big blow to the manager should he leave the club this summer.

However, Brazil legend Rivaldo, believes Ajax should allow the Brazilian to leave should Manchester United meet their demands.

“At the moment, Manchester United who have his former manager Erik ten Hag – seems to be the closest club to signing him and I’m confident we’ll all enjoy watching him play at Old Trafford.”

“Antony can do wonders at #MUFC and the World Cup – it will help his profile with the national team.”

Rivaldo believes Manchester United offer a better and a bigger platform for the player to explore his talent. Also, having former manager Erik Ten Hag at United, would make it easier for him to quickly adapt to the system.

The newly appointed manager for Ajax Amsterdam has issued a transfer doubt over Manchester United target Antony.

Erik ten Hag was the manager behind the quick rise to stardom of the attacker, and he will never refuse the chance to join his former and trusted manager in United.

Anthony’s agent has already informed Ajax to listen to any offer that comes from Manchester United. He wants his client to move to Old Trafford this summer to reunite with his former boss. The player is also very keen on a move to join Ten Hag, and personal terms would not be an issue if United only come calling. The only issue would be for United to agree a transfer fee with Ajax, and the Dutch champions are not willing to lose the player for anything less than €60m.

Manchester United are yet to make any signing since the transfer window opened. Most of the supporters are very disappointed at how slow the club has conducted itself through the few weeks in the transfer window, and believe the club should be proactive to get deals done for their new manager.

United finished 6th last season in the Premier League, and accumulated their lowest points in over 50 years. The supporters were very disappointed with such an abysmal performance and demanded the club recruit good players to upgrade on their poor form last season.

United in the past two weeks have been negotiating the transfer of former Ajax midfielder, who currently plays for Barcelona Frankie de Jong. Barcelona are demanding €80m transfer fee, but United are reluctant to pay such an amount.

Spending almost a month negotiating a single transfer is very frustrating, and the fans have every right to be disappointed.

United begin their pre-season on Monday 27 June, but the club is yet to sign any of their manager’s targets. Ten Hag would have been happy to have all his targets ready early enough for the pre-season, but it is very unlikely for that to happen. He has to start his pre-season with the squad that finished sixth last season and hope his targets will be signed.

The board however, insists that negotiations are ongoing to bring all targets of the manager and they are certain deals will be done in time for the manager.
