Afro-dancehall musician Stonebwoy has hit back at Shatta Wale questioning why the ‘Ayoo’ hitmaker keeps spreading lies about him when he gets the slightest opportunity.
Charles Nii Armah Mensah, known as Shatta Wale, recently embarked on a trip to meet Nigerian business executive and talent manager Bankuli for a music shoot.
Shatta Wale Talks About His Beef With Stonebwoy
During his visit, he was invited to appear on ‘The Honest Punch Podcast,’ one of Nigeria’s most provocative entertainment platforms, where he delved into discussions about his music, personal growth, and the numerous rivalries he has encountered in the showbiz industry.
Shatta Wale remarked that Stonebwoy was like a younger brother to him at the beginning of their musical journey, even referring to him as Daddy.
However, at a certain point, Stonebwoy permitted comments suggesting that he possesses greater musical talent than Shatta Wale, which seemingly sparked a desire in him to begin disrespecting the African Dancehall King.
“Stonebwoy is my boy. He used to be with me and come around at my first place that I rented and even called me Daddy. However, when he started getting into the media, people started telling him you have talent and you’re even better than Shatta Wale, it got into his head,” he said on the show.
When pressed about any lingering issues with Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale confidently asserted his stance:
“I’m on good terms with him, but he definitely can’t keep an eye on me. He is bound to stumble. My spirit is too expansive for him.”
Stonebwoy Jabs Shatta Wale
In response to Shatta Wale’s claims, Stonebwoy took to X to reflect on their last encounter, describing it as one of Shatta Wale’s happiest moments humorously revealing that Shatta Wale hugged him like ‘an obsessed woman’.
“The last time you saw me, you hugged me like an obsessed woman🧍♀️
Aren’t you tired of lying 🤥?”
