Former Ghanaian skipper, Asamoah Gyan, popularly known as ‘Baby Jet’ has announced the death of his father, Mr. George Gyan Baffour Mensah.
Mr. Baffour Mensah died at age 82.
While the specific details regarding the time and location of Asamoah Gyan’s father’s passing remain unclear, the legendary footballer shared a photo of his dad, expressing gratitude for allowing God to manifest through him in taking good care of him and his siblings.
“I’m happy you saw my greatness, Dad. Thank you for taking good care of us. You will forever be in our hearts. R.I.P. (ASASE J),” Gyan wrote alongside a photo of his late father.
Mr. George Gyan Baffour Mensah’s family has planned a one-week memorial service in his honor in Didcot, UK, on Saturday, July 25, 2026.
