BECE Candidates In Critical Condition After Boat Capsized On Their Way To Their First Paper

Final Year Junior High school candidates across the 16 regions in Ghana are today, September 14, sitting for their Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). Their performance will determine the schools they will be placed in.

But some students will have to go through hell in order to get to their Examination centres due to the bad nature of our roads. Some have to travel several miles, in all forms of conditions just to make it to the examination center to write the exams.

Also, the heavy rains during the weekend, have further destroyed portions of roads and bridges in some regions particularly the Jamboabo bridge in the Northern Region.

For this reason, canoes hag been provided to see to these students get to the examination centers to write their final papers.

However, a couple of the canoes carrying the students capsized and a number of them were seen in the water.

This was made known by Angle TV  correspondent, Ali Busu.

According to reports, 18 students have been rescued so far, with others in critical condition due to a delay in rescuers reaching them on time.

The team is said to be still searching for other survivors.

Hopefully they are all found.
