National Chairman for the People’s National Congress (PNC), Bernard Monarh, has sent a strong warning to the Deputy General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) not to misbehave or face his wrath.
Obiri Boahen said in an interview some few days ago that anyone who stands in the way of the Electoral Commission in a bid to disrupt the process in the compilation of a new register will beaten.
“Stay home if you don’t agree to the compilation of the new register because anyone who tries to disrupt the exercise will be beaten. We will beat you mercilessly. What happened in Ayawaso is just a tip of the iceberg,” Nana Obiri BBoahen said.
Mr Monarh reacting to the comment of the NPP Deputy General Secretary, noted, that if Obiri Boahen tries any move on him when he (Bernard Monarh) tries to ‘resist’ the compilation of a new register, will regret it.
“I swear, I swear if Obiri Boahen touches me, I will slap him three times, I swear, yes! the least touch, I will slap him three times… so the threat by Obiri Boahen that they will beat us, he can’t even withstand my slap, so let no one attempt to say they will beat anybody, because if you try, we will beat each other,” he indicated on Pan African TV Saturday.
Meanwhile, Mr Monarh is expected to report to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service for saying he will ‘resist’ the compilation of a new register.
