Today will be marked as one of the saddest days in Texas Elementary School because a lot of people have lost their lives which includes 19 children and two teachers. The shooter was gunned down on the spot by law enforcement officers.
After getting into one of the classrooms and barricading it, he started shooting without mercy. He killed a lot of students and teachers who were on spot for him. The incident took place around 11:32am local time.
The gunman entered Robb Elementary in Uvalde, Texas. Before making the move into the school, he has already shot his grandmother and crashed his vehicle. Nobody knows if that was the genesis of his anger. An official from the Texas Department of Public Safety who disclosed that after entering the school, the hitman opened fire on anyone who came his way whether students or adults.
The mother of the deceased suspect was in critical condition at the time the shooter was in action.
The gunman who was in body armor, engaged in a shootout with law enforcement officials where some officers were hit by his bullets. However, the shooter was overpowered and shot to death on the scene.
The shooter according to Texas Governor Greg Abbott is 18-year-old male who lives at Uvalde. The name of the deceased suspect is Salvador Ramos. He reportedly entered the school with a handgun and a rifle and started shooting innocent children and teachers killing nineteen (19) students and two (2) teachers.
According to Police investigators the suspect acted alone according to Uvalde CISD Police Chief Pedro Arredondo.
Members of the Border and Protection agents were among the officials who engaged with the shooter. One member was shot in the head but he is in a stable condition at the moment after receiving medical attention from the hospital.
President Joe Biden has condemned the shooting in an address this evening indicating that innocent souls have lost their lives and children who have witnessed the unfortunate killing of their friends as if they are in a battlefield will live with it for the rest of their lives.
The Uvalde Memorial hospital said it received 13 students for treatment and two among the 13 were already deceased. A different hospital also revealed it is attending to a 66-year-old woman and a 10-year-old girl who are both in critical condition, another 10-year-old and 9-year-old both in good condition. A different hospital also said it is giving medical care to two adults who are in critical condition.
