A video sighted by smartandstuck.com on Ghana web captures a military pleading with passengers who just want to roam about to desist from such act.
Military officers we all know are no nonsense people but the video that has gone viral pictures a different image of some military officers.
“It is better than losing your lives to go through the hardships in your homes than you leaving this world. Your maker up there has a purpose for you so please stay home…Make it very easy for everybody. We would be glad to stay with our families but we are now here working for God and country. It is for you, so please stay home,” he is heard saying.
Ghanaians have taken to their social media platforms to heap praises on Lt. Col. Michael Kwame Afreh Mfum for choosing such an approach in ensuring the lockdown directives, imposed by the president are adhered to.
President Akufo-Addo in his third late night address to the nation, announced a partial lockdown of some parts of Greater Accra and Greater Kumasi to reduce the spread of the deadly virus for two weeks.
The President’s directive started on Monday at 1am. However the lockdown does not affect the essential service providers.
During this lockdown period, there have been videos making rounds on social media which capture some military personnels maltreating persons found flouting the directive.
The Ghana Armed Forces have however cleared the airwaves about actions taken against some soldiers seen maltreating civilians in viral videos from the Operation COVID Safety.
