A Medical Practitioner stationed at the Paga Hospital has purchased hospital equipment with a Gh¢20,000 cash gift she received from the Paga Youth Movement (PAYOM).
Dr. Ama Antwiwaa Adu-Appiah is Medical doctor who was recently posted to the facility which is located at the Kassena-Nankana West District of the Upper East Region,
According to reports, Dr. Adu-Appiah received the cash donation on July 16 from the Movement as a token of appreciation for her commitment to serve at the Paga Hospital.
This gesture comes at a time when many doctors are reportedly hesitant to accept postings to the Region, especially to district hospitals.
Instead of spending the money on her own comfort, Dr. Adu-Appiah dedicated the entire sum to acquiring essential equipment that the hospital urgently required to enhance healthcare delivery.
The purchased items she purchased include; three nebulizers, two blood pressure monitoring machines, one fetal Doppler machine, one vein finder, one haemoglobin analyzer, five drip stands, five ward screens, one baby weighing scale, perfuser lines, two Veronica buckets, two handwashing basins, six rolls of cotton wool, and four packs of bottled water.

Upon receiving the equipment on behalf of the hospital, Nurse Manager Zita Abdulaih conveyed heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Adu-Appiah for prioritizing patient welfare over personal interests. “On behalf of the Medical Superintendent, Dr. Oteng, management, nurses, midwives, and the entire staff of Paga Hospital, we are truly delighted to accept these generous gifts. Among all the possibilities for your funds, you chose to think of us. “We are incredibly thankful,” she expressed.
She confidently assured the doctor that the equipment would be meticulously maintained and effectively utilized to enhance healthcare services.
