President Akufo-Addo has indicated that, final year Junior High school students will receive one not meal each day till they complete their papers starting from 24th August to 18th September, 2020.
And not only the students are to enjoy the meal, school teachers are also part of the package as the President noted that all the 146,000 tutors who will partake in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) are provided with food each day.
President Akufo-Addo made this known in his 15 address to the nation today, August 16, on measures put in place by government to help curb the spread of the virus.

Due to this, he has instructed the Gender Minister to begin preparations to ensure that, as from 24th August to 18TH September 584, 000 final year students across the country and 146,000 tutors are provided with one hot meal a day.
“As a result of reports I have received that some final year JHS students are going hungry in complying with COVID-19 protocols, I have just instructed the Minister for Gender and Social Protection to begin preparation to ensure that as from 24th August up to 18th of September, all 584,000 final year JHS students and 146,000 staff both in public and private schools be given one hot meal a day. This is to ensure full adherence to COVID-19 safety protocols.”
