
Fransisca Lamini, the only girl to qualify to this year’s finals of the National Science and Maths Quiz has scored another straight As in her Provisional WASSCE results.
Before the WASSCE exams, Francisca who sat for the 2020 Nov/Dec examinations blew 8A’s making it a booster for her to secure the same scores for the WASSCE.
Francisca’s dream of becoming a medical doctor in the future has been sealed because she now has both the academic passport and financial capacity to pursue her dreams.
In 2013, After a female student appeared in the quiz competition between St. Thomas Aquinas SHS, Presbyterian Boys’ Secondary School and Mfantsiman Girls’ SHS, where St. Thomas Aquinas won, no female has ever qualified to be in the finals until the 2021 edition of the competition.
Francisca Lamini has been hailed as the only female student who has made history by breaking this drought.
Not only did she made history for herself, but she made history with her team mates and her school for been the first school from the Volta region to make it to the finals of the competition.
Keta Senior High Technical School were able to beat Tamale SHS and Wesley Girls SHS in the semis to book a spot in the finals of the 2021 National Science and Maths Quiz which came off at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology(KNUST).
Though, things did not go as planned as KETASCO failed to win the ultimate prize that’s the trophy at the Grand finale of the competition, they have made history for themselves, their school and their region.
