Teachers and pupils at Yendi’s Zohe Evangelical Presbyterian (EP) Primary and Junior High School were allegedly scared to death when armed men stormed the school premises and indiscriminately opened fire, sending everyone running for cover.
Eyewitnesses reported that the armed assailants who targeted the school are unfamiliar figures within the community. Their actions have instilled fear and panic among parents, teachers, and students alike.
In a video that has emerged on social media, two individuals can be seen approaching from the school field where students were engaged in a soccer game. One person is dressed in a yellow top and blue jeans, while the other is wearing a coffee black t-shirt paired with black shorts. They then began shooting.
At this moment, there has been no official confirmation regarding injuries, and the motivation behind the attack remains unclear.
In the aftermath of this tragedy, it’s no surprise that many parents are deeply concerned about the safety of their children.
The Ghana Police Service has not yet released an official statement regarding the incident at the time of writing this report.
