The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has reiterated his pledge to serve Ghanaians with honesty so he will be remembered for being truthful.
The President speaking on Kumasi-based Television, Wontumi TV, indicated that the perception Ghanaians have for politicians is that they are liars whereby they appeal to the emotions of masses in using sugar-coated words to win votes but fail to deliver.
But for him (Akufo-Addo), he is working extra hard to clear the notion that Politicians are liars who underperform when given the mandate.

Hence, he intends to leave behind a lasting legacy that will erase the perception that politicians just promise to get power but fail to deliver after they have been given the peoples mandate.
“I’m truthful and someone you can trust because I have fulfilled promises not all but most of the promises I made while in opposition. I want to be remembered as a truthful person.
“People make promises but don’t fulfil them. Some even get angry when you remind them that they promised this or that but for us, we stick to our promise and that is what we want to be remembered for.”
The President noted that he will not be swayed from his vision by paying attention to the opposition and pressure to see infrastructure saying “if I should follow what they say I will deviate from what my mandate is, I will rather focus on what the people of Ghana expect me to do so that when I’m no more, they will know that I did more for the people of Ghana”.
