Founder of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG) Mr. Kofi Akpaloo, has expressed excitement over the recent which he claims has brought people together to fight one enemy claiming precious lives.
Kofi Akpaloo is of the view that as the deadly disease has taken the world by surprise, it calls for collective contribution from everyone in order to help fight and defeat it.
Ghana’s current Coronavirus cases have risen to 204 with 9 new cases recorded yesterday.
This and many other reasons have called for the country to be partially locked down thereby restricting movement of people in order to halt the spread of the virus.
However, Mr Akpaloo does not agree to the lockdown which he believes will do more harm than good to the nation because majority of Ghanaians he said live from hand to mouth and asking them to lockdown is not the best.
Also, the outbreak of the disease he noted has exposed our leaders on their bad leadership skills.
”I am happy coronavirus has arrived. Whoever developed the virus has done well because it has exposed African leaders and their poor leadership,” he said.
Speaking in an interview monitored by Ghnewslife.com, the loudmouth indicated that the outbreak has shown that Ghana and African is not prepared for a lockdown compared to the European countries.
Explaining further, he said Coronavirus is a “biological weapon” which has been introduced. This is why people are being asked to stay home”.
”Some workers in the hospitality industry have been asked to go home. The government must, therefore, pay these workers. We have to do it”.
