
The Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) has issued a press statement concerning a bombing incident at the Kotoka International Airport on 28th December 2021.
A video sighted saw a man dressed in protective clothing going through what looked like a bag with the aims of finding and diffusing the bomb.
At a point in the video, people in the airport were made to lay on the floor as a way of protecting them from coming face to face with danger.

Some travellers who were all locked in the airport could be heard asking staff to allow them go out of the airport.
However, in a stament by management of the Kotoka International Airport, they claim an unattended bag was sighted at the arrival hall of Teminal, Kotoka International Airport around 9pm yesterday.
“The Base Ammunition Depot Unit of the Ghana Armed Forces was immediately brought in to conduct preliminary assessment of the bag and its contents. The bag was subsequently taken away for further investigations, the outcome of which will be made Public”, portion of thd statmenet sighted by smartandstuck.com read.
In conclusion, “management of GACL wishes to apologise for the disruption in the arrival facilitatuon process during the period and assures travelling public of it commitment to ensure their safety and security at our airports.”
