Kumchacha church flood Mallam NADMO appeal

Prophet Nicholas Osei, popularly known as Kumchacha, appealing for help after his church in Mallam was flooded.

­Founder and leader of Heaven’s Gate Ministries, Prophet Nicholas Osei, popularly known as Kumchacha, has appealed to the Natiinal Disaster and Management Organisation (NADMO) for urgent assistance after heavy rains caused severe flooding at his church in Mallam, with part of the building reportedly collapsing.

How Kumchacha Heard the News About the Church Flood

The preacher shared his story in a video on his social media pages indicating that he he woke up to devastating news of floodwaters getting into his church premises stating that part of the building had collapsed.

“I woke up this morning with a heavy heart. I didn’t wake up with good news and I’ve been affected badly.” In addition, he added, “I need prayers from my loved ones because it’s not easy on my side”, he said.

The Extent of the Destruction at Kumchacha’s Church

Kumchacha described the extent of the destruction stating that  the floodwaters inside the church had risen to waist adding that the premises were completely inaccessible.

“The rain has caused flooding in my church at Mallam. Part of the building has collapsed and the floodwater would get to your waist level when you’re standing in it.

Kumchacha Alleges Two Deaths in the Neighbourhood

The man of God has alleged that two people had died in the neighbourhood however, this has not been independently verified and painted a grim picture of the situation across parts of Accra revealing how he became stranded in East Legon.

“I’m in East Legon right now and the whole place is also flooded.” In addition, he stated, “The floodwater has covered the big bridge to the extent that we can’t even see it.”

Kumchacha’s Appeal to NADMO for Help

Kumchacha used the opportunity to appeal to NADMO. He urged them to assess the damage at his church  and to provide necessary support they can offer.

“It has not been easy for me this morning. My church has now turned into a sea. NADMO should kindly check my church for me. It’s around the Mallam station.”

Kumchacha’s Advice To the Public

He has sent a word of caution to the public calling on Ghanaians to avoid unnecessary movement. In addition, he said they should wait until floodwaters recede.

“If you’ve not stepped out yet, don’t think of going anywhere. Everyone should stay safe and remain in your homes this because your life is more important than anything”, he stated.

What Happens Next After the Kumchacha Church Flood

It is unclear whether National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) will respond but Kumchacha is hopeful that help will come. He noted that he is praying for his church and his followers urging everyone to stay safe during this difficult time.
