Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, has urged Ghanaian business owners to base their ventures on unwavering quality, unrelenting innovation, and exceptional customer satisfaction to enhance its appeal domestically and globally.
At the official launch of “This Is Ghana Exhibition,” Simon Madjie, the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) addressed the audience on behalf of the Chief of Staff.
He urged business owners to stop relying solely on sentimental pleas for Ghanaians to support made-in-Ghana goods.Instead, he encouraged them to provide goods and services that foster pride and encourage patronage based on their inherent quality and merit.
“Do not simply ask Ghanaians to buy Ghanaian. Give them products and services that they can be proud to buy,” he emphasized while delivering the remarks of Mr. Debrah.
Mr. Madjie further implored entrepreneurs to make deliberate and strategic investments in cutting-edge technology, human capital development, and robust brand building, while placing premium on understanding and responding to the evolving needs of their customers.
Additionally, he advised companies to enforce corporate governance, keep accurate records, and seek ongoing innovation as non-negotiable foundations for creating robust, sustainable firms that can compete outside of Ghana.
Mr. Debrah reiterated the government’s steadfast dedication to fostering a supportive, welcoming, and business-friendly atmosphere for local enterprises to thrive. However, he emphasized that the responsibility rests with the private sector to take its crucial role in transforming the Ghanaian economy.
He noted that the ultimate objective is to build stronger, more productive, and globally competitive Ghanaian businesses capable of exporting their products, services, and exceptional talents to markets across Africa and the rest of the world.
The exhibition is powered by Citi FM and Channel One TV and sponsored by Ecobank, MTN, the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) and the Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA).
