President John Dramani Mahama has praised Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, describing the Minister for Foreign Affairs as one of the hardest-working members of his administration.
The President made the remarks during his working visit to the Volta Region, where he acknowledged Ablakwa’s contribution to government programmes and public service.
Mahama said the minister has shown commitment to his responsibilities despite the demands of his office.
According to the President, Ablakwa has demonstrated dedication in carrying out his duties as Foreign Affairs Minister. Mahama said the minister continues to work hard in support of the government’s development agenda.
He also encouraged residents to continue supporting Ablakwa in both his ministerial role and his work as a Member of Parliament.
Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa serves as Ghana’s Minister for Foreign Affairs. The ministry oversees Ghana’s diplomatic relations, international cooperation and consular services. It also represents the country’s interests in regional and global organisations.
The President’s comments came during activities linked to his two-day working visit to the Volta Region.
The regional tour includes inspections of development projects, meetings with local stakeholders and public engagements under the government’s Resetting Ghana initiative.
Government officials say the visits allow the President to assess ongoing projects and engage directly with citizens.
Mahama’s comments formed part of his broader assessment of the performance of his administration. The President has repeatedly urged ministers to remain accountable and deliver on government priorities. Public remarks recognising ministers’ performance have become a regular feature of his regional visits.
The Presidency says the nationwide tours will continue in other parts of the country.
Officials say the visits provide opportunities to launch projects, monitor public investments and strengthen communication between government and local communities.
