Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is in full support of Arsenal’s right back Ben White for England call up ahead of the World Cup tournament which will kick off in few weeks time.

White was missing out in Gareth Southgate’s 28-man squad for the Nations League match against Germany and Italy last month.

His great expectations of playing for England in this year’s World Cup event were dashed, but he is gaining tremendous support for being called up, and things are going in his favor because Kyle Walker had a groin injury this week and will likely need surgery. As Kyle receives medical attention, White emerges as the ideal replacement.

Walker has been used as a full back and right-sided center-back by Southgate, who views the Manchester City player as a flexible player of his team.

White, who has been playing as a right-sided back for Arsenal this season, has been a vital part of the team. According to Arteta, the player can easily adjust to his new role, which will provide him the chance to be called up to the England team.

Arteta explained that White will be comfortable playing as the right-back for the Three Lions team.

Many people have been shocked by White’s right-back selection this season, but Arteta said that when the defender joined the club from Brighton in 2021, he had always thought about the possibility of using him at full-back as well.

Arteta stated that if he’s questioned on whether Ben White is ready for England call up, his answer is yes because White is a confident player and actually proves his worth on the pitch. Also, White can work under real pressure.

Despite the fact that Takehiro Tomiyasu has fully recovered, the Arsenal boss has stated that a return to a back four in the coming weeks is not out of the question.
