Media personality, Nana Aba Anamoah, has revealed the conduct of some health professionals in the country who are charging Gh¢ 500 to alter the results of the coronavirus test.
In recent times, the pandemic in the country is on the rise and has raised concerns as to why active cases have increased.
Replying to a comment by one of her followers, the General Manager of GhOne TV in a post claimed that some health professionals charge GH¢500 to change results of tests from positive to negative.
“Sister, some of our people are charging 500 cedis to change a positive result to negative,” she posted on Twitter.
She also accused the Ghana Health Service and Ghana Medical Association of succumbing to pressure from political parties in the run up to the elections.
She is of the view that political rallies and campaigns in the country gave the fertile ground for the spread of the virus.
“During the campaigning season, Ghana Health Service, Ghana Medical Association, etc. pandered to the whims of politicians and remembered medicine & science only after elections.”
In his 22nd address to the nation yesterday, the president noted that he will be left with no option than to impose a partial lockdown – if the need be to curtail the spread of the deadly virus because it is better to be safe than to be sorry.
According to the president, 13 regions out of the entire 16 regions have been hit by the deadly coronavirus.
He admonished Ghanaians to adhere to the covid-19 protocols in order to bring the situation under control.
