Staff of the civil and Local government services will receive a 15 percent increment on their basic salary effective, July 2021.

In a statement sighted by this portal, there will be a 15 percent increment in the basic salary of staff of the civil and Local government services after a Memoranda of Understanding was reached between government and executives of the Civil and Local Government Services Association of Ghana (CLOSAG)

The statement read:

In line with the Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) reached between Government represented by the Hon. Minister of Employment and Labour Relations, Executives of the Civil and Local Government Services Association of Ghana (CLOSAG), approval is given for the payment of a fifteen percent (15%) premium for the 2021 monthly basic salary of staff of Civil and Local Government Services.

The effective date of implementation is January 1, 2021. Associated arrears (January to June, 2021) are to be effected as follows:

PAYMENT PERIOD OF ARREARS

AUGUST= 1 month (January 2021)

SEPTEMBER= 1 month (February 2021)

OCTOBER= 1 month (March 2021)

NOVEMBER= 1 month (April 2021)

DECEMBER= 2 months (May and June 2021)

However, that is not the same for the public servants as their salaries will be increased by 4 percent.
