The Police have arrested four persons in connection with the murder of Professor Emmanuel Yaw Benneh at his residence on 12 September 2020.
The suspects are Christian Pobee, 32 year old cleaner; Isaac Botchway, 41 year old houseboy; James Nana Womba, 26 year old cleaner and Adams Mensah Mansur, 52 year old gardener.
The four according to the Police are the domestic staff of the academic scholar.
It came to light that Prof Emmanuel Yaw Benneh, a law lecturer at the University of Ghana Law School who got killed on Thursday September 10, in his mansion at Adjirigano, East Legon Accra, was tied up by his killers and shot multiple times.
Yaw Benneh, who was on post retirement contract at the University of Ghana, was allegedly overpowered by his assailants after a brief struggle in his bedroom, tied up and shot to death.
The killers, who had somewhat entered the mansion without any signs of a break-in, then locked back the doors and closed the gates at the entrance and left.
The crime, which happened on Thursday, was discovered this morning after Prof Benneh’s errand boy went to the mansion to check on him after not hearing from him since Thursday.
