The Elections Committee of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has scheduled the vetting process for National Officer Aspirants for Monday, August 31, 2026, in preparation for the National Delegates Conference.
As stated by the party, the assessment process will prioritize candidates for the Chairmanship position, followed by those seeking the roles of General Secretary and National Treasurer.
Candidates vying for the position of national vice chairpersons will take center stage on Tuesday, September 1.
The next day is dedicated to the National Organizer and National Youth Organizer.
The vetting process concludes on Thursday for NASARA, including candidates for Communications and Women Organizers.
By the conclusion of the filing period, 47 candidates had submitted their applications to compete for the different roles.
The party anticipates subjecting them to screening and further procedures before the election on October 3, 2026.
The National Officers Elections Committee (NOEC) has confirmed that 47 candidates out of the 50 applicants have duly submitted their nomination forms.
Three candidates, meanwhile, did not finish the submission procedure.
The participants include Bernard Antwi Boasiako,the former Ashanti Region National Chairman of the NPP. He made his intentions known to party folks of his interest in the National Chairperson position but has withdrawn his bid.
Also Evans Kodom, who intended to take on the role of National Communications Director but due some personal reasons, has opted out of the race.
Perpetual Lomokie Akwada, meanwhile, failed to provide her completed nomination papers by the cutoff date which was on August 29.
Consequently, Aboagye stands as the only candidate for the National Communications Director role and will go to the vetting round as a likely uncontested contender, contingent upon fulfilling all procedural prerequisites.
