PHOTOS: Angry Police officers punish pedestrians refusing to use Madina-Adenta footbridge

Police officers within the Adenta-Madina jurisdiction and officers from the municipal assembly have finally cracked the whip on pedestrians refusing to use the Madina-Adenta footbridge.

The pedestrians who decided to cross the main road directly beneath the bridge were made to kneel down.

Their stubbornness and refusal to use the footbridges which were purposely created for that warranted that kind of punishment.

The footbridges were awarded for construction in November 2018 and commissioned last year following series of demonstrations by residents of the area.

They were vehement in calling for the footbridges to help stop accidents which have claimed many lives at the said spot.

However, after their completion, some of the same residents have expressed misgivings about the long and winding nature of the bridges, hence they abandon them and resort to crossing the roads riskily.
