PHOTOS: First Lady, Rebecca Akufo-Addo Sends Delegation to Salaga over lynching of 90-year-old woman

It can be recalled that a 90-year Old Lady, Nana Akua Denteh, was heinously treated and ungodly mishandled at a village near Salaga, the Municipal Capital of East Gonja.

The pictures and videos circulating all over portray that the vulnerable octogenarian, grandma Akua Denteh was lynched to death at the comfort of onlookers who watched unconcerned.

News of that inhumane and unreligious torture reached all people from different walks.

So far, hundreds and thousands and millions of Ghanaians and people all over the world have shown their disapproval and empathy for the late octogenarian; looking at the punishment meted out to her for a transgression of cultural principle she strongly contested her innocence in her last words.

The Overlord of the Gonja land Traditional area, Yagbonwura Tumtumba I, has added his voice to that significant episode and condemned the act in no uncertain terms as barbaric and unbearable.

The First Lady of the Republic of Ghana, Mrs Rebecca Akufo Addo, mother of all and of course, a religious mother, has decided to be part and parcel of the deceased family by sending a delegation to mourn the eternal departure of the late Nana Akua Denteh.

She entrusted that responsibility into the good hands of Hajia Safia Mohammed, the NPP Women Organizer for the Savannah Region, and Dr Abudu Amadu Musah, First Vice Chairman of the NPP for the Savannah Region to console the deceased family and extend her condolences to them.

The delegation presented 10 bags of Rice, three cans of oil and an envelope to the head of the deceased family, Mr V.I Abukari as her window’s mite.

Hajia Safia Mohammed assured the deceased family of the First Lady’s quick support and attention within the confines of her capacity and capability.

To assist the delegation do this great honour on behalf of the First Lady was:
