Radio personality and aspiring parliamentary candidate for Afigya Sekyere East constituency, Okatakyie Afrifa, has reportedly been arrested by the police.

His arrest comes after a confrontation between his team members and police officers at one of the polling stations where voting was in progress, as they attempted to submit a court injunction letter to halt the exercise.

In a video which has gained public attention, a number of well-built men confronted police officers at a yet-to-be known polling station, when a member of Okatakyie’s gang physically assaulted an officer, causing the uniformed personnel to respond with warning shots while making arrests.

Information regarding Afrifa’s whereabouts remains unknown; however, reports suggest that he was taken from the polling station by police officers.

Reports indicate that, despite a court injunction on the election, it has continued following the arrest of Okatakyie Afrifa and his associates by the police in the constituency.
