The District Chief Executive (DCE) of Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa, Isaac Odoom, has been been accused of assaulting a disabled mother and daughter after the former ran over their dried fish which costs Gh¢ 1,100.00.
According to sources available to smartandstuck.com, after the DCE destroyed her stuffs, the disabled mother of two confronted him to compensate her but she was met with insults from Hon. Isaac Odoom.
Narrating how it all happened, Madam Abena Gyimah said in an interview monitored by this news portal that she went to the marketplace to the buy her goods. So in the morning she prepared her stuffs to sell it in the market.
Because she was unable to carry it alone, she placed the sack on the shoulders of the road so she could get help to carry it.
She said she returned to the fish a few minutes only to find it scattered on the road. Upon enquiry, she was told by eyewitnesses that her sack was ran over by the DCE.
She was directed to the vehicle of the DCE as the culprit who committed the crime. So she went directly to Mr Odoom to compensate her but she received the shock of her life after the latter rained insults on her for bringing his attention to the damage he has done to her foodstuffs and assaulted her and her daughter for insisting he should pay her.
A distraught Auntie Abena said she reported the incident to the DCE’s wife who promised to help her but hasn’t done so.
