Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II nearly destooled Baffour Owusu Amankwaatia IV who is the Chief of Bantama after the latter was summoned before the King.
This was as a result Amankwaatia IV selling part of Race course for the building of market shops and also diverting the Subin River by filling portion of the river with sand.
A delegation of sub chiefs was sent to the said location to ascertain if the rumour about Bantamahene selling part of Race Course and diverting the course of Subin river is true.
The delegation came back with a confirmation of the Bantamahene engaging in such a shameful act.

This greatly infuriated the King and threatened to destool him; a vote by all the divisions including Nifa, Kyidom, Adonteng, Akwamu and others with the exception of Benkum which had no representative at the time of the deliberations said the Bantamahene had acted in bad faith; They however pleaded for clemency on his behalf.
But the Akyeame (Linguists) impressed on the Asantehene to outrightly dismiss Baffour Owusu Amankwaatia IV for gross insubordination.
Otumfuo said he would have destooled him but for the kindness shown him in the past by the Chief’s father, he has given him a second chance.
The King then ordered that all structures on the said piece of land be demolished and the Subin River restored to it course.
