Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, has revealed how Twenty-six (26) leaders have refused to assist Ukraine after the Russian invasion.
In the midst of the war between the two countries, Ukraine had high hopes of receiving aid from her allies who pledged to support them in times of war. However, it seems Ukraine has to fight its own battle.
“Who is ready to fight alongside us? I don’t see anyone,” he said. “Who is ready to give Ukraine a guarantee of NATO membership? Everyone is afraid.”
Russian forces have unleashed missile attacks in Ukraine on the orders of Vladimir Putin who announced a “special military operation” at dawn on Thursday.
In the midst of the brewing tension between Russia and Ukraine, the US issued sanctions against Russia as world leaders predicted the tension between Russia and Ukraine could spark a deadly war in Europe in 1945.
Ukrainian President, Zelenskyy, has said 136 servicemen and civilians were killed on the first day of Russia invasion while 316 people have also been injured.
“We’re defending our country alone. The most powerful forces in the world are watching this from a distance”, he said.
He added: “Defending the Zmiinyi island, all our border guards died a heroic death. But they have not surrendered. They will all be awarded posthumously the title of the Hero of Ukraine. Let those who gave their lives for Ukraine be remembered forever”.
“They’re killing people and turning peaceful cities into military targets. It’s foul and will never be forgiven,” Zelenskyy said, referring to Russian forces.
