West Ham Defender, Kurt Zouma, will appear before the Thames Magistrates' Court Tuesday May 24 for abusing his pet cat at home. His brother Yoan will also be in court for their first hearing.

It is still unknown what triggered him to unleash his anger on the pet. Yoan Kurt Zouma’s brother was the person behind the camera filming the whole incident and has been charged on two counts of aiding, abetting and cheering Kurt Zouma to commit crime.

Kourt Zouma, the main culprit in the offense, has been charged with two counts of causing suffering to a protected animal and also not taking proper steps to protect the animal from pain, suffering, injury or disease.

The two pet cats of Kurt Zouma are still under the protection of Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA).

The player has since apologized for his behavior. ‘I want to apologize for my actions. ‘I also want to say how deeply sorry I am to anyone who was upset by the video.

‘I would like to assure everyone that our two cats are perfectly fine and healthy.

‘They are loved and cherished by our entire family, and this behavior was an isolated incident that will never happen again.’

After the incident, Zouma’s club side West Ham charged him £250,000 and two weeks of his salary £120,000 was donated to charity. Adidas also canceled its sponsorship deal with Kurt.
