A 23-year-old Mexican beauty influencer, Valerie Márquez, was shot and killed during a live TikTok session where she was having fun with her fans.
The unfortunate incident happened on May 13 at a beauty salon near Guadalajara in Jalisco.
Márquez was killed by a man pretending to deliver a gift to her, according to media reports.
Márquez was speaking off-camera with a man disguised as a delivery person who opened fire on her, resulting in her untimely death. The man shot Márquez in the chest and head.
The gruesome murder was captured on camera abruptly ending the TikTok live while leaving online viewers astonished.
Márquez’s death came as a shock to many as a lot of Mexicans flood her social media pages with messages mourning her death.
According to United Nations reports, around 10 women or girls are killed everyday in Mexico. This unfortunate incident happens to be part of an ongoing wave of gender-based violence in parts of Mexico.
The Mexican Police are working to find the perpetrators of the crime and make them face the full rigors of the law.
