Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has reiterated that he will abolish the infamous E-levy under his administration when Ghanaians give him the mandate in the December polls.

“On this digital journey, we will also abolish the E-levy, as we have already stated before.”

Speaking to the youth in Accra on Sunday, November 3, Dr Bawumia promised to also help introduce the credit score when elected.

According to him the credit score would afford Ghanaians easy access to electronic gadgets on credit. Anyone who cannot afford to pay instant cash for any electronic gadgets such as phones, laptops, etc. would be deducted in bits till the deduction is done.

And the deduction can only be effective when such individuals have their Ghana card, bank accounts, and a digital address system where they can be located should they default in paying.

This initiative aims to bring economic improvement and growth in the lives of Ghanains. It also seeks to bridge the technology gap in the country and promote digitalisation.
