Dr. Richard Winfred Anane, has disclosed that the Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe popularly known as Abronye openly gave a scathing reply to former president John Agyekum Kufuor at an event organised by the party.
He indicated that Kufuor, who was not pleased with the decision of the party in implementing the Top-Down approach in selecting people to take various positions in the party, expressed his concerns.
Explaining further he noted that Kufuor was also worried about the party not currently having a Chairman since Stephen Ntim who happens to be the Chairman has left post due to ill health.
However, Abronye according to Dr. Anane did not agree with Kufuor’s rejection of the Party’s Top-Down decision and equally challenged the statements made by Kufuor which the acting chairman later apologised.
“The former president expressed that the bottom-to-top approach was ineffective and suggested that, due to the lack of a capable chairman, previous chairmen should collaborate to oversee the management of the political party. Abronye expressed his confusion regarding the former president’s suggestion. The acting Chairman expressed his apologies to Kufour and stated that they would investigate the matters and respond to him accordingly,” he revealed.
