Andy Appiah Kubi who is the member of parliament for Asante Akyim North, has lost to independent candidate, Ohene Kwame Frimpong in the 2024 parliamentary elections.
Ohene Kwame Frimpong garnered 26, 926 votes while the incumbent MP had 8,933 of the valid votes cast.
Kofi Asamoah who is the parliamentary candidate for the National Democratic Congress polled 2,469 votes.
Andy Appiah Kubi has been a member of parliament for 8 years and was looking forward for a third term.
Meanwhile, the Electoral Commission is presently announcing the results from the constituencies subsequent to the counting and collation of votes at several polling stations and collation centers nationwide.
The exercise is being done at the National Collation Center in Accra. According to the Commission, the exercise is aimed at promoting transparency and fairness in this year’s polls.
