
The death of Highlife legend, Dada Kwaku Duah, known in the showbiz industry as Dada KD has surprised many.
The musician passed away on Friday May 16, 2025 at the Gbawe Government Hospital in Accra.
Dada KD’s manager, King Pee, has revealed shocking information regarding the challenges the late singer faced in his quest for medical care.
Speaking to Kwesi Aboagye on Peace FM’s Entertainment Review, King Pee explained that a lady who mostly helped the late singer heard the musician had fallen and rushed to his room. She discovered Dada KD had become unconscious.
She called a taxi driver who runs errands for the musician when his car is faulty. The first two hospitals which they rushed for medical care refused to provide any help since there was no doctor on duty. They had to rush him to the Gbawe Government Hospital where a medical doctor attended to him but he could not make it.
According to King Pee, the delay in finding a doctor who is on duty played a role in Dada KD’s death.
This chilling details has raised concerns about Ghana’s healthcare system especially about the availability of emergency health professionals trained to provide treatment during emergency situations.
Dada KD is best known for his love songs such as Yebeye Yen Ho Fi, Obiaa Se Eye, Odo Mu Anigye, Ene Me Nye, and So Mu Gye.
Fans are devastated by his sudden demise, which also marks an end to his decades-long musical career.
