Ghanaian gospel musician, Isaiah Kwadwo Ampong, has addressed the ongoing rumors regarding the health issues of the late Highlife Legend, Charles Kwadwo Fosuh, popularly known as Daddy Lumba. He clarified that the icon was not bedridden for 17 years, but rather that his illness lasted for just 2 years.
According to Ampong, his first time meeting Daady Lumba was at Neat FM after an interview.
He said that the late musician embraced him and lifted him, commending his remarkable talents in the presence of Roman Fada and other notable figures. He mentioned that Lumba described his gesture towards him as a sign that Ghanaians ought to have demonstrated for his uniqueness.
Ampong clarified that despite Lumba’s health deteriorating over the years, he was not bedridden for the prolonged duration that has been reported.
“Claims that he was sick and bedridden for 17 years are unfounded and should be rejected.” He acknowledged that he was not as strong as he had been when he lifted me, yet he was not unwell in the same way I first encountered him in a wheelchair,” he stated.
Ampong observed that he decided to address the issue at this time in order to rectify inaccuracies. “I chose to remain silent following his death, yet the falsehoods being spread compelled me to clarify the situation,” he stated.
