Former Assin Central MP, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong has leveled some allegations against the government and the Ghana Armed Forces in the ongoing recruitment exercise.
He stated that applicants stand to be rejected as persons have already been selected through other channels.
“The sad part in all this is that they have already selected persons for the recruitment backdoor. I am a politician and I can tell you that what is currently ongoing is a facade because I have been there before.”
The Presidential aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) noted in a video sighted by smartandstuck that the current government, in an effort to sidestep accusations of discrimination, has opened the portal for the general public to apply.
However, after enduring hours in the blazing sun, applicants are often told that they do not meet the basic requirements to be accepted into the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) ; as he observed that this has been the trick politicians have been using over the years.
“They will tell you after all the stress you’ve gone through that you don’t qualify. This is the trick politicians have been using to avoid accusations from the public that they are discriminating. And all those who died, died for nothing”.
Kennedy Agyapong further expressed his deep concern over the tragic stampede at El Wak Sports Stadium, emphasizing the critical importance of strong leadership in managing the nation’s affairs and promised to arrest appointees who sell positions to Ghanaians when he becomes president.
“When I become President, I will lock up any appointee who engages in making money during recruitment exercises. This is why high-profile politicians do not like me. Because I am bold and confident in everything I say.”
