A Dagbani female highlife legend has died in a fatal accident at Juaso in the Ashanti Region on Friday May 29.

A Dagbani female highlife legend, Memunatu Laadi Yunus, has died in a fatal accident at Juaso in the Ashanti Region on Friday May 29.

The Tamale-based musician who passed on at age 52 was buried on Saturday May 30th in accordance with Islamic Tradition.

She met her untimely death while en route to Koforidua to take part in celebration of this year’s Eid-ul-Adha.

The veteran musician who left behind one daughter has a number of songs in the Dagomba language which include; Gbewaa Zulya are Jilima, Di-Guhinda, Daa-Dibu, Dabba, Taxi-Driver, Kpibga, N-yura, Dooyili, Zemana-Tagiya, Taali-bo, Amilya-Naa-Venima-mix among others.

The renowned highlife musician left an indelible mark on Dagbani music captivating audiences across the nation with her performances.

She earned the title of the “Queen” of Northern music, a distinction that solidified her influence in the music industry.
