
Former Director-General of the National Signals Bureau, Kwabena Adu-Boahen, has been re-arrested after being implicated in a contract linked to the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL).
This comes after he has served his remand in the Ghc 49 million procurement case. Adu-Boahen who is on trial for charges which include stealing, money laundering and causing financial loss to the State was remanded on May 2 for allegations of interference with key prosecution witnesses.
Lawyer Samuel Atta Akyea disclosed on Tuesday May 13 that his client (Adu-Boahen) has been rearrested on new charges after being granted bail in the ongoing $49 million case.
Although Atta Akyea did not provide detailed information pertaining to what the new charge is really about, the Attorney-General, Dr Dominic Ayine, has mentioned in a previous press briefing that the embattled former security chief is under investigation in an ongoing internet connectivity case at the Ghana Water Company (GWCL).
The Accra High Court has set May 26th for a case management conference involving the alleged diversion of Ghc49 million.
The Accra High Court Judge, Justice John Eugene Nyadu Nyante, has instructed the office of the Attorney General to provide all witness statements by May 20,2025.
