President John Dramani Mahama has indicated that the nation holds a deep sense of pride in the extraordinary legacy of Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, particularly regarding her influence on women and children throughout Ghana.
After visiting the Rawlings family with his wife, Lordina, he expressed, “Ghana takes pride in her accomplishments as First Lady and mother of the nation. As we collectively grieve her departure, we also take this opportunity to honor and reflect on the impact she made while she was alive.”
He said that her death coincided with the nation’s preparations to commemorate former President Jerry John Rawlings.
“Your passing has been profoundly disconcerting, occurring right as we were poised to commemorate the fifth anniversary for our esteemed former President, Jerry John Rawlings.”
Emphasizing her extensive influence across the nation, President Mahama remarked, “As the founder and President of the 31st December Women’s Movement, there is a wealth of evidence showcasing her accomplishments and the significant impact on the populace, especially women and children, throughout the country.”
