A horrific incident has occurred in Garu in the Upper East Region after armed men opened fire close to the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) office killing 4 in the process, including Yahaya Bukari, the headmaster of Garu D/A Junior High School.
Reports indicate that the gunmen on two motorbikes infiltrated the village and started shooting, killing four people.
The District Chief Executive for Garu, John Abaare, confirmed the news stating that the victims included a bystander, an NHIA employee, a mentally challenged man, and Yahaya Bukari, the headmaster of Garu D/A Junior High.
He was tragically shot while trying to direct his kids inside their classrooms after hearing the first shooting.
