Kofi Akpaloo has not not been left of the hook despite having been granted bail of GHC10 million with two sureties.

Reports coming from the brother of the Founder and Leader of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG) indicates that Kofi Akpaloo has not not been left of the hook despite having been granted bail of GHC10 million with two sureties.

His revelation comes amidst rumors of Mr. Akpaloo’s release from the custody of the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO).

Disputing such claims, he said that the family has not received any concrete justification for Mr. Akpaloo’s detention.

While speaking on Okay FM, he stated that the leader of LPG was picked up at his residence in Accra without any explanation as to why he was arrested.

“Without giving us an explanation as to why, they arrested him. He said, “We are simply trying to put the pieces together based on the information that has been revealed since then, up until this point.”

Mr. Akpaloo was arrested on September 3, 2025.

The Deputy Attorney-General, Justice Srem Sai, has said Mr. Akpaloo’s apprehension was linked to his alleged involvement in fraud, misappropriation of public funds and causing financial loss to the State.

According to information received so far, Mr. Akpaloo is still being held at EOCO due to his inability to satisfy the terms of his bail requirements.
