Former Kpandai MP, Hon. Matthew Nyindam, has urged his constituents to be steadfast and patient as the constituency readies itself for a re-run of its parliamentary election.
He encouraged residents to remain calm and united revealing a great sense of hopefulness in the upcoming elections.
In a recent interview on a local radio station, Hon. Nyindam acknowledged the frustrations and uncertainties that many residents, particularly the youth, are currently facing as the upcoming poll approaches. He emphasized that emotional responses or impulsive behaviors could jeopardize lives.
“Your life holds immense significance for me,” he declared. “Make the most of it.” There’s nothing in this election that’s worth risking your life for.
He believes the will of the people has been put to test one day again counting on each constituent to choose the right person to represent their needs, aspirations and dreams in parliament. Nyindam is also highly optimistic that God will see him through.
Since genuine democracy depends on harmony and tolerance, Nyindam urged Kpandai locals to cast their ballots responsibly.
He ended his speech by expressing his heartfelt appreciation to all the families in Kpandai for their immense support in this trying moment and promised that he would continue to work for their safety, growth, and development.
Nyindam’s remarks follow a ruling by the Tamale High Court that invalidated his parliamentary election win and mandated a rerun in the Kpandai Constituency within a 30-day timeframe. In light of the ruling, Parliament officially informed the Electoral Commission (EC) of a vacancy.
