Former Member of Parliament for Dome Kwabenya, Hon. Adwoa Safo, has revealed that her political future is at stake if Kennedy Agyapong becomes the president of Ghana.

According to the former Gender Minister, she has two kids with the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential aspirant and has every right to support the father of her kids emphasizing that she holds no grudge against him but she is not willing to engage in family and friends politics.

“I have two beautiful kids with him and I don’t hate him but we’re not doing family and friends politics in NPP,” she said.

Speaking during an NPP event, Adwoa Safo noted that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) must learn from its past mistakes and make amends.

“We were in government for 8 years and we did family and friends politics and the results of our deeds are evident to all of us”.

The former Deputy Majority Leader highlighted her extensive experience in politics, showcasing her long-term commitment and diverse roles since 2007.

However, citing a hypothetical situation, she observed that if Kennedy Agyapong were to triumph in the primaries and subsequently secure the presidency in 2028, her (Adwoa Safo’s) prospects of serving in government would be slim. She anticipated that Ghanaians would have various opinions regarding her appointment, and given her familiarity with Kennedy Agyapong, she recognized that he would prioritize the interests of the Ghanaians.

Her political future may come to an end and that is the basis for her support for Dr. Bawumia.

“My Political career is at stake and my future is at stake and my future is with Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia”.
