At the Amasaman Circuit Court, Nana Agradaa caught public attention after covering her handcuffs with a handkerchief printed with the Bible verse 1 John 5:4-10.

The gesture quickly sparked mixed reactions online as her case was adjourned to 5th February 2026.

The verse reads: “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world… this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.”

The founder and leader of Heaven Way Champion International Church is contesting a her 15-year prison term after she was convicted of defrauding by false pretenses and deceptive advertising.

Agradaa was sentenced on July 3, 2025.

The former priestess turned Evangelist, Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, contended through her legal representative that the trial was fundamentally flawed and that the evidence presented did not align with the sentence given her.

The Amasaman High Court on January 21st adjourned the appeal hearing of Agradaa to February 5th to deliver its final verdict with regards to her 15-year jail term.

Her lawyer, Richard Asare Baffour, disclosed while speaking to the media after the adjournment that the decision by the court stems from the failure of the Attorney General’s office to adhere to the court’s directives.

He noted that the technical complexities associated with the electronic evidence necessary for the appeal played a significant role in yesterday’s ruling.
