The Parliamentary candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Bentil Godfred Henry, has won the Mpohor seat in the 2024 elections.
Henry polled 11, 680 while John Kobina Abbam Aboah Sanie of the NPP secured 8,299 of the valid votes cast.
Henry’s victory comes as a surprise to many as NDC adds to the number of seats the ruling New Patriotic Party has so far lost in their strongholds.
In a different story, The incumbent NPP member of parliament for Sekondi constituency, Egyapa Mercer, lost with 11,084 votes, representing 42.94% of the total valid votes, while Blay Nyameke Armah of the ND secured 14,558 votes, corresponding to 56.40%.
