The Member of Parliament for Akwatia Constituency, Bediako Baidoo, has predicted that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) may spend a longer period in opposition.

According to him, the NPP will remain in opposition for at least 30 to 40 years.

During an interview on Starr FM, he urged his party members to effectively utilize their period in government to leave a lasting impression on the minds of Ghanaians.

He noted that his party ought to concentrate on improving the lives of Ghanaians while ensuring complete transformation of the country, so that after many years, when the NPP returns to power, they will see the positive impact of his party’s efforts.

“Let us work towards the development of our nation so that in 30, 40, or 50 years, if you are fortunate enough to return, you can witness the progress we have made,” he said.

Baidoo cautioned against complacency within the administration, emphasizing that ongoing rivalry hinders good governance.

“Indeed, it is imperative to advance this nation, and upon your arrival, there is a consistent effort to…” Do you not believe that complacency may ensue if your party is the sole ruling entity in the country?
