Political commentator, Nana Frimpong Ziega, has condmend Shatta Wale for asking a question Ziega feels is inappropriate at a meeting Vice President Dr. Mahmudu Bawumia had with creatives.
According to the media personality, Shatta Wale is a mega star and should have asked a substantial question on industry related issues.
He made these assertions during United showbiz program on October 19.
Vice president and Flag Bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahmudu Bawumia had a meeting with creatives on October 16 to discuss his policies to them and during question time, Shatta Wale asked the second gentleman of the land about his plans for individuals living on the street or street boys.
Dr. Bawumia responded by indicating he was once on the street doing all sorts of jobs to survive and as that understood the struggles people living on the street are facing each and every day. He sympathize with them and promised to put measures in place that can ease their struggles.
Reacting to Shatta Wale’s question, Ziega said the meeting was not about the street or a Gender Minstry meeting and as such, the multiple award-winning dancehall artist should have asked a deep question pertaining to the creative arts industry.
“Shatta Wale’s first comment was he didn’t want to come. All eyes was on him and people at the meeting expected him to ask a critical question. But he went on to say the people on the street and not those gathered at the meeting made him who is and so what would the vice president do for the those on the street,” he fumed.
” Shatta Wale has traveled and knows how the foreign industry operates and should have asked a serious question but look at the kind of question he asked at the meeting as if the program was organized for street boys and girls”.
He explained further that the platform Shatta Wale asked the question was inappropriate.
The show’s host, Empress Gifty Adoryee, was not of the same opinion as Ziega. She pointed out that Shatta Wale raised that query since it was of importance to him.
